Viva Life Photography celebrates 25 years in 2016.
The Viva story begins in 1991, when founder and CEO Mr. Vittorio Natoli, established his first studio from home where he was photographing weddings and portraits and building the Viva brand, with a high number of referrals from clients who loved his work.
After seven years working from home, it was time to move the brand to a larger premises and Vittorio established the first Viva studio in the heart of Fremantle on Collie Street. Collie Street was an amazing space created by the art of Tony Batistessa from the Swan Valley and paid homage to Wassily Kandinsky with its geometric shapes and use of primary colours.
The Viva brand was growing every year with a team of wedding photographers shooting up to 200 weddings a year. This was an exciting time in Viva’s history and was the beginning of Vittorio’s vision to replicate the system and move the business model into franchising.
The first franchise studio opened in 2005 in Viva Joondalup with Joanna Natoli/Bettegaci as the owner. The brand then grew exponentially with the opening of 8 WA studios located in key areas across the metropolitan area.
The next move was to expand the brand nationally with the first studio in Moonee Ponds opening in Melbourne in 2009, followed by Kew and Frankston. This was both a challenging and an exciting time in the business as new structure and systems were created, to enable studios to run remotely and in partnership with new franchisees.
As Australia’s leading photography company, Viva has proudly photographed over 50,000 portraits and 3000 weddings during the 25 year history. Viva’s passion has always been to honour people’s lives, to tell their story and build their self-esteem. To capture people at every significant moment in their life through a choice of beautiful portraits including family, couples, pregnancy, newborn, children, nude, pets, natural glamour and weddings.
This passion extends to the photography awards where Viva photographers have collectively won over 250 AIPP national awards. Vittorio alone has won an abundance of accolades, including W.A Illustrative Photographer of the Year, WA Wedding Photographer of the Year and WA Landscape Photographer of the Year and currently stands at the National President of the Australian Institute of Professional Photography. He was also recently honoured Grand Master of Photography at the APPA (Australian Professional Photography Awards), currently making him Australia’s 24th Grand Master of Photography.
In 2016, the Viva journey continues by contributing to the photography industry by creating and developing many photographers, leaders and business owners. These individuals are able to successfully earn a living in their chosen craft, working in a creative industry where they can express their talents and individuality and share this passion with the people they come into contact with.
This is the Viva legacy…
