The 2012 AIPP Western Australia Epson Professional Photography Awards proved a huge success for Viva Photograhy with Founder and CEO, Vittorio Natoli winning the coveted WA Professional Photographer of the Year award, WA Lanscape Photographer of the Year and Highest Scoring Landscape print.
James Simmons, Viva Photography’s Head of Photography received an outstanding array of awards winning WA Wedding Photographer and Illustrative Photographer of the Year, John Whitfield King Award and was named runner up for WA Photographer of the Year. James continues his success after winning last years WA Photographer of the Year and recently claiming Master of Photography status at the national awards.
Viva Midland Studio Photographer, Adam Levi Browne was named a finalist for the Student Photographer of the Year category. With over 30 years industry experience and former President of the WA Professional Photography committee, Vittorio Natoli says, It feels amazing to finally win WA Photographer of the Year after many years of entering both the state and national awards. It is a great honour and a surprise as this is the first year I entered the landscape photography category. This years images were inspired by a winters day feel with some early morning fog and first light captured close to Perths amazing Swan River.
James Simmons says, I was very surprised and shocked to win the awards, it’s a humbling experience, you are surrounded by such wonderful talent and have been chosen as having the top set of images in the category so its a real honour. It’s a great platform for learning, networking and getting inspired and excited about our industry. The AIPP and the state council is run by such a great bunch of people and it makes me proud to be a part of it.The WA Professional Photography Awards (WAPPAs) were held at the East End Bar in Fremantle on Wednesday the 4th of July with over 200 guests representing the professional photographic industry. The WAPPAs are held annually and each photographer can submit up to three images per category to be judged by a panel of industry peers.With Viva Photographers winning the top prize of WA Photographer of the Year two years in a row, Viva Photography continues to be recognised as leaders of the photographic industry with 6 studio locations in Western Australia including Fremantle, Subiaco, Balcatta, Joondalup, Midland and Armadale in and a further 3 studios in Victoria.
