Viva Midland Studio Photographer, Adam Levi Browne was named a finalist for the Student Photographer of the Year category. With over 30 years industry experience and former President of the WA Professional Photography committee, Vittorio Natoli says, “It feels amazing to finally win WA Photographer of the Year after many years of entering both the state and national awards. It is a great honour and a surprise as this is the first year I entered the landscape photography category. This year’s images were inspired by a winters day feel with some early morning fog and first light captured close to Perth’s amazing Swan River”.

James Simmons says, “I was very surprised and shocked to win the awards, it’s a humbling experience, you are surrounded by such wonderful talent and have been chosen as having the top set of images in the category so it’s a real honour. It’s a great platform for learning, networking and getting inspired and excited about our industry. The AIPP and the state council is run by such a great bunch of people and it makes me proud to be a part of it”.The WA Professional Photography Awards (WAPPA’s) were held at the East End Bar in Fremantle on Wednesday the 4th of July with over 200 guests representing the professional photographic industry. The WAPPA’s are held annually and each photographer can submit up to three images per category to be judged by a panel of industry peers. With Viva Photographers winning the top prize of WA Photographer of the Year two years in a row, Viva Photography continues to be recognised as leaders of the photographic industry with 6 studio locations in Western Australia including Fremantle, Subiaco, Balcatta, Joondalup, Midland and Armadale in and a further 3 studios in Victoria.
